Nerve lines up industrial techno heavyweights for Friday session

Nerve Melbourne
words by staff writer

Three selectors bring raw, forward-thinking techno to Nerve this Friday with serious underground credentials.

Leading the charge at Nerve is a local Melbourne name who’s been sharing stages with heavyweights like Reinier Zonneveld, Ben Klock and Basswell. Brooke Powell’s sets are built for momentum; all drive, zero let-up, and designed to keep floors moving from first kick to last with an industrial-leaning edge.

Joining him on the night is a producer who brings a sharper, minimal-influenced edge to the decks. With millions of plays stacked up across his releases and a global breakout moment alongside Restricted on Love Tonight, Nik Sitz knows how to move a room. His sound cuts fast, clean and relentlessly forward; techno that doesn’t waste time.

Rounding out the lineup is Sydney selector, Kevin Paviani, delivering stripped-back, groove-focused techno with precision. He’s been a steady presence in the scene, known for his ability to lock into a rhythm and ride it hard. Alongside him, a heavy rotation of local talent keeps the night grounded in Melbourne’s thriving underground.

Brown Alley’s state-of-the-art DNB sound system gets repurposed for proper techno, spread over two rooms with an outdoor rooftop area for those who need a breather. All night long, punters can grab $6 Carlton, $10 Alizé and Agwa, $11 vodkas and basics, plus $12 South Ave’s.

Nerve continues to carve out space for nights like this; raw, no-frills techno that prioritises sound over spectacle. Each artist brings their own flavour to the booth, but the thread running through is clear: forward-thinking techno built for serious dance floors.
