This event is part of RISING 2026.
An exhibition at NCM that seeds a new network, built on artist protocols. Embrace the anti-slop.
The tech infrastructure we depend on is designed to be invisible. These extractive networks and platforms harness a similar logic—maximise attention, maximise interaction, maximise time-on-screen, increase engagement. Stigmergy offers an alternative—a hand-built, unscalable network of artists, and media and the traces left between them. An antidote to the slop shock, rage bait and doomscroll-flattening of everything we see online.
At RISING, the network goes live: IRL and URL performances from local and international artists take over the new NCM with livestreamed acts from curatorial nodes abroad contributing to the network in real time. PSEUDO—a media studio working across live performance, expanded cinema, sound, and digital infrastructure—are curating a series of live performances for opening night. They’ll explain the infrastructure, how it was built, who built it and the values encoded into its architecture.
