Headline artists Caroline O’Connor, Alinta Chidzey and Mark Vincent will be joined by an impressive roster of talent including Nancye Hayes, Johanna Allen, Mark Dickinson, Ross Hannaford, Glenn Hill and Cassie Ogle. Local Tasmanian performers will also feature throughout the festival program.

Musical theatre legend Nancye Hayes, often described as Australia’s first lady of music theatre, will participate in a special in-conversation event at the Earl Arts Centre on Saturday 24 May. This rare opportunity will allow audiences to hear directly from one of the industry’s most respected performers, choreographers and directors as she reflects on her trailblazing career.

The festival showcases a variety of performances celebrating different aspects of musical theatre. Johanna Allen, fresh from an international season of Sweeney Todd, will perform The Songs That Got Away – The Music of Harold Arlen at the Earl Arts Centre on Sunday 25 May. This musical journey explores the life and work of the composer behind Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Mark Dickinson, known for his performances in West End productions including Les Misérables and The Drowsy Chaperone, will star in Chasing Oscar, a celebration of songs written for film musicals.

The festival also highlights Tasmanian talent with Made in Tasmania starring Cassie Ogle, a VCA graduate and local performer who will share stories and songs from her theatrical journey.
