The omnipresent Mushroom Group has grown a little bigger today, officially announcing the launch of their latest endeavour, 100s + 1000s.
Billed as a “full service music development company with the predominant focus on discovering and nurturing talent for a global audience”, 100s + 1000s aims to create a platform for young artists to release music and flourish creatively, while having their affairs handled by one of the best companies in the business.
A press statement notes the label’s goals towards avoiding “genre-based parameters”, and also details 100s + 1000s plans to deliver the unique support and strategy to get the most out of each artist.
The label launches today with a roster featuring rising indie-pop artist Fergus James, electronic producer Tobiahs and D’arcy Spiller, who was recently spotlighted as Triple J Unearthed’s Feature Artist. Each artist on the 100s + 1000s roster will be managed internally by Mushroom Group.
“I couldn’t be more excited to launch 100s + 1000s,” Mushroom head honcho Matt Gudinski said in a statement shared today. “Our goal is to create something much more fluid and holistic than a traditional label.
“We’re taking a super artist-friendly, collaborative and transparent approach, and so far it feels like we’ve got something very special on our hands. It helps that we’ve launched with three of the country’s most exciting young artists too!”
