The Mornington Peninsula is getting a serious live music glow-up with the launch of Peninsula LIVE.
Mornington Peninsula Shire has partnered with the Live Music Office to roll out Peninsula LIVE, a Live and Local flagship program designed to amp up the region’s music scene. The initiative will focus on capacity building, growth strategies and long-term support for local artists and venues through two specialist roles: Live and Local Venue Liaison and Live and Local Policy Consultant.
Over the next 12 months, Peninsula LIVE will deliver gigs, micro-festivals and industry forums aimed at strengthening the area’s music ecosystem and creating a more connected community.

The program has been supported by the Australian Government through Music Australia and will include several key components designed to create opportunities for local talent.
Micro-festival events will bring live performances into Peninsula townships, while professional development workshops will offer musicians and industry professionals training in performance skills and business know-how. An industry forum will gather stakeholders to discuss challenges and map out the future direction of live music in the region.
The initiative aims to create more paid opportunities for local artists and increase activity for venues, contributing to the Peninsula’s economic development. Peninsula LIVE will also provide pathways for musicians to develop their careers while keeping the community connected through live performances.
The program represents a focused effort to build infrastructure around the local music scene, ensuring artists have access to resources and venues have support to host more events.
