Moor Music and Leaps and Bounds Festival are hosting a massive party at New Guernica called IN CLOUDS featuring a whopping local lineup.
New Guernica may be new to Collingwood but those two levels already have some stories to tell, yet we reckon all those tales and more are likely to be topped by the incredible diversity IN CLOUDS is going to bring to the northside club.
The team at Moor Music have conjured up, in their own words, ‘an evening of sorcery’ featuring a brilliantly diverse lineup – eight bands and seven DJs – which will include a surprise guest performance from one of Melbourne’s fastest-rising soulful jazz artists.
Punk jazz, neo-soul, jazz fusion, progressive rock, live electronic and modern dance floor jazz on one level, techno, jacking house, disco, afro-beat, hip hop dance hall and jazzy house worlds on the other, this melting pot of genres set to boil over for one bloody momentous occasion.
Headling the event are jazz punks Claps, hot off the back of delighting Strawberry Fields fans with an incredible set and afterparty hosting duties at the Mirage Motel each night.
If it sounds a little mish-mash then you clearly haven’t been to a Moor Music event yet. They are bonafide experts at artistic curation, you only have to look at the DJ lineup to see how much genuine musical talent is on offer.
Experts at jazz doofs (what better doof?) they’ve made their name by rejuvenating a wide range of Melbourne venues; Abbots Yard (Dusk NYE), The Night Cat (Grace events), The Lady Cutler ( IN WAVES), and Colour Club (Bloom) among their recent achievements.
