Moonee Valley is turning up the volume this May as Valley Sounds 2025 lights up the streets from 23 May to 1 June.
This micro-festival celebrates local talent for music lovers and musicians alike. Groove through the municipality for buzzing live music hotspots: bars, restaurants and even surprise venues. It’s the perfect way to spend the colder months out on the town – I mean, who doesn’t love a good boogie on a winter’s night?

From mid-May to winter’s doorstep, the neighbourhood is becoming a vibrant, music-packed playground, and the best part? It’s all free.
Two weekends. A ton of venues. Excellent vibes. The festival features a mash-up of local legends and visiting stars, dishing out everything from cosy acoustic jams to dance-worthy band sets.
Headlining the opening night on 23 May at Penny Lane Rooftop Cinema is none other than Aussie music icon Ella Hooper, joined by soul-hip hop sensation Radical Son and genre-defying producer Amutha.
Other hot picks? Catch indie rockers The Great Emu War Casualties at the Essendon Bowls Club on 24 May, sing along with Dan Vogl at Mt Alexander Hotel on 30 May, and let Gabby Steel serenade you at Holmes Hall on 31 May.
