Join Moon Elevator for the launch of their new EP “The Shadow That Follows You Home” with Grazer & Hyla.
“At home in any David Lynch soundscape” was how post-punk.com described Moon Elevator’s 2024 debut. Their second EP “The Shadow That Follows You Home” sees the Australian indie trio leaning deeper into their love of post-punk atmosphere. Across four tracks, Moon Elevator take a nocturnal, psychedelic trip into the shadowlands of post-modern relationships, conjuring a mood reminiscent of Echo & The Bunnymen, Slowdive & The Triffids.
Grazer is a glimpse into the wistful world of Melbourne duo, Mollie and Matt. Their dreamy soundscapes oscillate between the past and present – the melancholic atmosphere of 80s post-punk and the shoegaze revival of recent decades. Echoing vocal refrains recall the intimate conversations of lovers, dislocated from the present. Torn between the aching weight of nostalgia and an urgent bursting forth into the future.
Pulling influences from dream pop, garage and psych rock classics, Hyla is a project formed by Alex Hayes, Rob Stephens and Michael Antonas who have played and toured extensively in bands such as Abbe May, Gum and The Silents over the last decade. Reminiscent of 90’s classics such as the Jesus and Mary Chain and Stone Roses, Hyla uses fuzzed out guitars, and layered melodic vocals to create a nostalgic psychedelic sound.
