Victoria's Treaty officially begins with a free celebration at John Cain Arena on Friday 12 December with Missy Higgins, Baker Boy and more.

Victoria’s Treaty: It’s Here marks a historic moment as the Victorian government and First Peoples come together to sign the Treaty and unite woomera and spears in ceremony, headlined by a number of Australian artists including Missy Higgins, Baker Boy, Yothu Yindi and more.

Treaty Victoria says, this signals a new chapter built on respect, trust and letting Aboriginal communities have genuine control over the services and policies that shape their lives.

Missy Higgins, Baker Boy, Alice Skye and more

Victoria’s Treaty: It’s Here brings together culture, dance and community in a celebration that’s open to everyone. Alice Skye, Baker Boy, Briggs, Deborah Cheetham Fraillon, Missy Higgins, Uncle Kutcha Edwards and Yothu Yindi will all perform alongside other special guests throughout the night.

Treaty Victoria says the agreement is about giving First Peoples real decision-making power over how their services are designed and delivered. When Aboriginal communities lead the way on policy and solutions, outcomes get better across health, housing, education and beyond. Treaty Victoria emphasises that families do better when they have control over their own lives, and Treaty creates a practical framework for meaningful change by actually listening to the people these decisions affect.

Treaty Victoria describes this as a fundamental shift in the relationship between the Victorian government and First Peoples, moving towards genuine partnership and self-determination. It’s a chance for all Victorians to witness and celebrate this significant step forward together.

Gates open at 5pm with the main event running from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Tickets are free but you’ll need to book ahead to secure your spot at this historic occasion.
