One of the last of America’s true outsider folk troubadours, Hurley will make an appearance at Sydney Festival, as part of their Quiet Music for Curious Ears series, and play headline shows in Brisbane and Melbourne.
From the the beatniks in the NYC Village where he started in the early ’60s, to the hippies in Vermont, to the Americana fans, indie rockers and freak folkers from the last two decades, and those who have covered and championed his songs – from Cat Power to Devendra Banhart to Calexico – his music has spanned many generations.
