Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2014 starts tonight with the Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow. The sold out show takes place at St Kilda’s Palais Theatre from 7.30pm tonight, and will be taped to air on Network Ten.
A further 90 shows debut this evening at many of the festival’s independent venues such as the Tuxedo Cat and the Imperial Hotel. A full list of shows is available on the festival’s website.
If you missed out on tickets to the Supershow, local comedy room Crab Lab continues tonight and each Wednesday during MICF at the House of Maximon. John Conway hosts with Lawrence Mooney headlining. $5 entry, 8.30pm start, tickets at the door.

Free: Improv troupe The Improv Conspiracy offers free shows every Wednesday of the festival. Harold Night, the group’s Chicago-style improv showcase goes totally free and starts at 7.30pm tonight at the Dan O’Connell Hotel in Carlton.
