– Melbourne comedian Karl Chandler celebrates his birthday today with a special live recording of his podcast The Little Dum Dum Club. See it 5pm today at Five Boroughs in Hardware Lane, tickets from littledumdumclub.com or on the door.

– Radio station Syn FM today presents Live from The House – a special edition of their show In Joke featuring guests Milton JonesJames AcasterUrzila CarlsonRadio Variety Hour, and Stuart Daulman. See it in person today at the House of SYN, 16 Cardigan St Carlton from 4:30, or hear it on your radios on 90.7fm.

– DAYTIME: If you can’t stay up late, a whole bunch of shows will be running during the day today. Family friendly shows kick things off with The Luck Child being the first at the Spiegeltent, 10am; with Monski Mouse following at 11:30am. Mr Snot Bottom will do his family friendly thing at the Town Hall from 11am.

– The (Very) Big Laugh Out returns to the City and Federation Squares today. Today at The City Square, Sharon from Canada at 11:30am, and The Strong Lady at 12:30. Then from 2:30 until 4 MCs Kiki & Pascal host a show at Federation Square featuring Anna Pocket RocketSharon from CanadaThe Strong Lady, and the Trash Test Dummies. Entry is free.

– Huggers Family Friendly Comedy & Cabaret starts at noon at the Exford hotel. At 2pm, Huw Joseph and the Immoral Support Band play the Toff in Town. Xavier Toby’s comedy walking tour 2014: When We Were Idiots will be held at 3pm and 8pm by the Burke & Wills Statue at the City Square. At 3:30pm, the The Best of British returns to the Exford and Improvilicious to the Town Hall. At 4, Pop Mashup: Happy Birthday Doctor! comes to the Butterfly Club.

– Another photography exhibit comes to the Comedy Festival today. Comedy Mid-Air features a series of images taken by official photograpers Jim Lee and Stano Murin. 1pm at the Spiegeltent at Federation Square, entry is free.

– Have you ever wanted to give stand-up comedy a try? The First Five will run a daily workshop on how to get started in a informal setting. The First Five takes place at the Imperial Hotel from 5pm Thursday through Sunday until Saturday, April 12. Tickets from TryBooking.

– LATE NIGHTFestival Club is in Haus Party mode with Die Roten Punkte hosting tonight, 10:15 at the Hi-Fi Bar. Also on late tonight: The After PartyThe Dirty Horse Comedy JamTitty Bar Ha Ha, and Fancy Boy. For a full list of all of today’s shows, check out the Comedy Festival website.
