She’ll also be live supporting Vance Joy this Friday, November 18 at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt and in Melbourne at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday, November 26.

A culmination of the Melbourne musician’s big, bold, and expansive musical output to date, the forthcoming five-track collection Stay Awake, featuring 2022 singles Evidence & Rerun, is a testament to an artist as powerful behind the pen as she is behind the mic; a huge voice with something to say.

To coincide with the EP announcement is the arrival of a new single and title track, Stay Awake, which takes an empathetic look at the strain that depression can have on a friendship. The video – shot in London by award-winning UK director Tina Bull aka Tiny Bullet – is cinematic and wildly expressive, capturing the song’s sentiment through movement and featuring a striking performance by Mia herself.

Originally from Noosa, Mia honed her craft playing bars, restaurants and country clubs up the coast, just her and her guitar. In her late teens she moved Melbourne, and after a couple of years of gigging locally realised there was a bigger, braver sound, one she’d not dared to dream, waiting dormant inside her.

After capturing the attention of fans and media alike with her debut single, the predominantly accapella ‘Work For Me’, Mia has gone on to become one of Australia’s most highly acclaimed emerging artists. Five singles in, Mia has graced playlist covers, had her singles added to high rotation on triple j, toured alongside the likes of The Rubens and Vance Joy and performed on national TV several times over.

The Stay Awake EP is out Febuary 10, 2023. Tickets to the tour go on sale Friday 18th November here
