ENSLAVED TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE

Just a little reminder: extreme metal artisans Enslaved will bring their 25th anniversary celebrations to Australia in October, with two full sets over the course of the evening. Set one is dubbed Tales From Mythological Forests: a collection of material from the earlier chapters of Enslaved’s career. Set two is Spinning Wheel Ritual, featuring more recent works with a focus on redefining Enslaved’s creative force. And fans are involved in the setlist selection: those who purchased tickets before the end of June were able to vote on which songs make the final cut. Tickets are still available and you can catch them at the Prince Bandroom on Thursday October 6.

NEW SINGLE FROM MOON

As they announce they’ll be opening for The Superjesus in October in Sydney and Newcastle, prog-rock outfit Moon have released Ronnie Biggs, the much anticipated third single from their album The Orbitor. The song is about the infamous UK train robber but the band says “don’t let the title deceive you: it’s a track that is so full of emotion it can make a grown man cry.” Beginning as a recording experiment, the three-piece threw out the rule-book and set about treating a rock band like an orchestra with its balls out, creating new rock on their own terms. Moon is led from the front by guitarists Steve Balbi (Noiseworks, Move Trees) and Mark Ward (Pearls & Swine, Plastic Fingers), with 13-year-old drummer Jagger Alexander-Erber.

ARAKEYE SINGLE LAUNCH

The culmination of two and a half years of effort and production comes to fruition for Melbourne hard rock four-piece Arakeye, who will launch the first single off their upcoming debut full length album Atmosfears at the Workers Club on Sunday August 14. Protagonist asks the listener to break free from commonly held and widely accepted opinions, to become more perceptive to lies and half-truths.

It questions the role that the media plays in setting the tone of current social climates in relation to elitism and corporate greed. Atmosfears will be released in September.

LOMBARDO OFFICIALLY JOINS SUICIDAL TENDENCIES

Suicidal Tendencies will release their new album World Gone Mad on Friday September 30. It features ex-Slayer legend Dave Lombardo on drums plus new members Ra Diaz on bass and Jeff Pogan on guitar. Lombardo first joined the band on the last US tour which saw Suicidal Tendencies as main support for Megadeth. He’s now officially a member of the band and a driving force behind the new release. World Gone Mad was produced by Mike Muir with Paul Northfield (Rush, Dream Theater, Queensrÿche, Ozzy Osbourne, Hole, Marilyn Manson) who also engineered and mixed the record.

NEW COFFIN CAROUSEL DOUBLE A-SIDE SINGLE

It’s available worldwide on iTunes, Spotify and all digital music stores and as a limited edition 7-inch white vinyl with expanded artwork through Waterfront Records.
