CAMP COPE RELEASE ‘DONE’ VIDEO
Melbourne’s Camp Cope have released the video for Done, the opener from their acclaimed self-titled debut album, out now on Poison City Records. Filmed at the Crowbar in Brisbane at their sold out album launch last month, the video speaks volumes for the inclusive, safe environment that Camp Cope work for at each of their shows. On the events that unfolded that night, singer Georgia Maq says, “The 1.33 mark in the video captures me calling out the aggressive men who were ‘just trying to enjoy’ themselves, while compromising the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of those around them. Rest assured, as long as we’re on stage and have a platform to have our voices heard, we will always call out this behaviour.” The bond between crowd and band reached new heights that night, with the front row a proud line of women exchanging hugs after their set.
NEW VIDEO FROM JACK THE STRIPPER
Melbourne metal powerhouse Jack The Stripper have released their brand new video Nibiru, taken from their debut album Raw Nerve (2013). While the lyrics address subjects of abandonment and feelings of hopelessness, the music transmits an unnerving, nightmarish atmosphere, which the band felt needed to be appropriately conveyed. Frontman Luke Frizon says, “With so many different platforms shared by media and your peers telling you how to feel, how to think, how to view yourself every day, it’s a given that disillusionment and dissociation will strike a lot of people, and cause suffering. Nibiru is for those people and seeks to illustrate the sense of loss, separation, and worthlessness that they feel.” Jack The Stripper’s Nibiru tour will bring them to The Workers Club on Saturday July 16.
