We knew it was coming, but it’s still a very sad day.

Meredith Music Festival has announced it will not be going ahead for its 30th iteration in 2021.

Meredith usually takes place each December but as result of the ongoing disruptions caused by COVID-19, it is clearly no longer a possibility to hold the festival this year.

What you need to know

  • Meredith Music Festival has been cancelled for 2021
  • This is the second year in a row that the festival will not go ahead
  • Aunty Meredith has opened the merch shop for those who want to support the festival

Keep up with the latest music interviews, news and reviews here.

Aunty Meredith broke the news via an email to her adoring fans. We’ll let her take it from here.

“I am writing to let you know that the 30th Meredith is not happening this December.

“It’s just not possible at this time to make Meredith.

“I want to acknowledge all who worked hard and dreamed even harder to will this year’s festival into being. And everyone who sent letters checking in on us, with ideas, hopes and wishes – I feel your energy. Thank you.

“Here at The Sup’, when the time is right, Meredith will Happen, for the 30th and Very First Time.”

It’s shattering news for us all who were keen to head to the Supernatural Theatre for Meredith’s three-day extravaganza this year, but sets up what will be a much-anticipated 2022 return.

In the meantime, Aunty Meredith has revealed that the Supernatural Gift Shoppe is now open and will remain so over the next hundred days should you wish to support the festival or get your hands on a cool tee, beanie or apron.

“There is a Meredith Community Tucker Tent Apron and Tee in there, with all funds raised from those two items going back to the Meredith community via several local groups.”

While the news absolutely sucks, there is some light at the end of the tunnel with Meredith and Golden Plains having each been awarded their first-ever grants from the state and federal governments.
