This exciting release follows the successful singles ‘Shovel’ and ‘Lonely & Horny,’ and merci, mercy is giving us a taste of what’s in store with her uplifting new single, ‘Silver Lining,’ complete with a charming animated lyric video.

‘Silver Lining’ is a collaboration between merci, mercy and Robby De Sa (known for working with MAY-A and Gretta Ray). This new track is a standout on the upcoming EP, showcasing merci, mercy’s signature style of pairing buoyant melodies with profound subject matter.

The track delves into the realm of social anxiety and self-medication, exploring how people often use substances or other people as a way to cope. It also sheds light on those who become so entangled in these coping mechanisms that they lose sight of the consequences. In true merci, mercy fashion, ‘Silver Lining’ takes a seemingly heavy topic and transforms it into an infectiously upbeat tune.

“Silver Lining is about having social anxiety and self-medicating yourself, whether that’s with substances and/or people. It also shows someone who is so in love with the habits they use to cope with their mental health that they have forgotten the consequences those habits have on them. Silver Lining makes me feel happy because I could turn something that causes me pain into a fun upbeat song that others will be able to enjoy,” says merci, mercy.

‘Like An Orchid’ is set to drop on November 24, serving as merci, mercy’s third EP. The collection promises a dazzling array of alt-pop anthems, including the already-released gems ‘Shovel’ and ‘Lonely & Horny,’ alongside two fresh tracks, ‘If You Had Any Friends’ and ‘Mouldy.’ The songs explore a myriad of topics, delving into the complexities of relationships, addiction struggles, and the highs and lows of life.

For those unacquainted with merci, mercy, her impressive musical journey has amassed an incredible 24 million streams. She’s already released two EPs: ‘no thank you, no thanks’ (2020) and ‘is it me, or is it you?’ (2022), making her a rising star in the industry. Songs like ‘Into You,’ ‘Black Cloud,’ and ‘Sick To My Stomach’ have graced the airwaves, earning spots on triple j in Australia, along with international recognition from influential tastemakers like Zane Lowe at Beats 1 and BBC Radio 1 hosts Jack Saunders, Mollie King, and Arielle Free. Her music has captured the attention of listeners worldwide, with spins across Europe and press support from reputable publications like NME, Paper Magazine, and The Line of Best Fit.
