Developed using the groundbreaking techniques of anatomist Dr. Gunther von Hagens, BODY WORLDS employs his innovative plastination process to preserve actual human specimens, transforming the study of anatomy into a powerful visual art form. The result is both haunting and breathtaking; a deep dive into what it means to be alive.
Figures twist in motion, muscles reveal tension and grace, and organs glisten with intricate detail. These are not models. They are real people, transformed through science into a study capturing the resilience, vitality, and art of the human body.
This latest exhibit delves into the physical impact of joy on the human form, teaching audiences what parts of their anatomy are involved in happiness and how positive or negative emotions can affect the entire body.
Through interactive installations and stunningly detailed displays, visitors can trace how positive emotions improve circulation, strengthen the immune system, and spark chemical reactions that support mental health. You’ll discover the effects of dopamine and serotonin on the human mind, while seeing the impact of chronic stress etched into the heart and lungs. The science feels intimate, human, and emotional.
Augmented reality mirrors overlay your anatomy in real time, revealing the precise positioning and inner workings of your organs just beneath the surface. Dedicated sections examine the heart, brain, and foetal development, blending art, biology, and wellness education in a way that feels fresh, immersive, and surprising.
Suitable for all ages, visits run for around 60 minutes and the venue is fully wheelchair accessible. Tickets go on sale at 7 PM on 19 February, starting at $19 for children and $33 for adults.
