Tech Noir's 21st Annual Christmas Party returns to New Guernica with a stacked lineup.
Forget the leftover ham — Tech Noir’s 21st Annual Christmas Party is back at New Guernica this December.
The long-running Christmas Day tradition returns to Fitzroy for another late-night celebration on 25 December. Tech Noir’s 21st Annual Christmas Party has become something of an institution for Melbourne’s electronic music community, offering a post-pudding escape for those who’d rather spend the holiday surrounded by strobes than tinsel. The party kicks off at 10pm and runs into the early hours, with a lineup that spans the local techno and house scene.

This year’s Tech Noir’s 21st Annual Christmas Party features sets from DJ Kiti, Alien-A, Quale, DJ Time, Jess, Jessica, Yulia Kasa, Simon Slieker, Azul666 and Ranjit Nijjer, with visuals by Bluemd keeping things appropriately festive. It’s a who’s who of Melbourne selectors, each bringing their own take on the darker side of the dancefloor.
Meanwhile, upstairs in the Attic, New Guernica is also hosting Guerns Xmas — Carols by Strobelight. This one comes with free entry before midnight for anyone who brings stolen Christmas decorations to help deck out the room. Drink specials include $5 beers and seltzers, $6 shots, $6.50 vodkas and $8 hard rateds. DJs on rotation include Post Nutmeg Clarity, Jove, Tommy Craig and Solid As A Rockstar.
Between the two levels, New Guernica is essentially transforming into Christmas headquarters for anyone who prefers their carols with a 4/4 kick drum. Whether you’re after the harder edge of Tech Noir downstairs or the looser vibes upstairs, there’s a room for every kind of post-lunch dancing.
