Cool Changes: Indoor/Outdoor brings 12 local and international DJs to CBD venue on 25 January
Cool Changes: Indoor/Outdoor, a collaboration between Melbourne’s DIY collectives, takes over Gravity Club on 25 January for a 16-hour day-nighter.
Presented by Breakfast Club alongside Waves and Tokyo Love Hotel, Cool Changes: Indoor/Outdoor transforms the underutilised CBD venue into an indoor/outdoor gathering inspired by Melbourne’s most local weather phenomenon. Running from 2pm to 6am, the event brings together homegrown talent alongside international guests for a marathon session across Gravity Club’s dual spaces.
Taking place on the eve of Invasion Day, the event will close before sunrise on 26 January out of respect for First Nations communities, allowing attendees space to rest and stand in solidarity at the day’s rallies. A portion of proceeds will go to not-for-profit organisations supporting First Nations communities.

Cool Changes represents a heartfelt collaboration between several of the city’s most active DIY collectives, with a strong emphasis on showcasing homegrown talent. Gravity Club’s Funktion-One sound system will pump across both indoor and outdoor areas, creating an all-encompassing club experience as the event moves from afternoon through to early morning.
Melbourne-born Tornado Wallace, now based in Berlin, blends house, ambient and club music into a sound rooted in the city’s left-of-centre culture. His genre-fluid sets have travelled worldwide since leaving Melbourne, making his return home a significant moment for the local scene. He’s joined by Yamarchy, a Tokyo-based DJ, booker and curator known for deep, obscure cosmic and Balearic selections. As resident DJ and booking director at Club Mitsuki since 2019, Yamarchy has become a key figure in Tokyo’s underground scene.
au4r33y has been quietly doing all the right things as an up-and-coming Eora selector. As head of Prowl, she’s been instrumental in platforming some of the country’s and the world’s most forward-thinking music. A respected digger both locally and abroad, her bookings extend to spaces like Hertz Seoul, while her all-night-long set at The Breakfast Club during winter 2025 is still being spoken about.
Marlie’s path has taken her from the small rooms of Eora to Fabric and DC10, forged through discipline, curiosity and countless hours on the dig. Her selection reflects that dedication, bringing depth and range to every set.
UK selectors Bobby from Pleasure Club and Eddie Guy from Waves bring international flavour, while Italy’s Just Alice represents The Breakfast Club. Japan’s Kamome from Vinyl Youth rounds out the international contingent alongside Reptant presenting a live set for Plastisonic, Roka from DMO, and Shani from Minima. US-based CHKLTE from Visionquest completes the 12-strong lineup.
Gravity Club’s setup allows the event to blur lines between music, art and subculture, with the Funktion-One system delivering pulsating soundwaves across both spaces. Cool Changes takes the concept of an indoor/outdoor day-nighter and fills it with DJs representing diverse sounds and scenes, from cosmic Balearic to house, ambient and club music.
As a collaboration between Breakfast Club, Waves and Tokyo Love Hotel, Cool Changes: Indoor/Outdoor emphasises community-driven dance music culture, bringing together crews who’ve been building Melbourne’s underground scene through grassroots events and independent bookings. This is DIY culture operating at scale, taking over a CBD venue for a full day and night of music.
