Gnocchi Festival
Words by Talia Rinaldo

Melbourne's Gnocchi Festival returns to The Ascot Lot from April 30 - May 1. Entry is $10 per session, which includes a Spritz on arrival.

Ah, gnocchi. The key to our potato-loving hearts. Who would have thought a simple pillowy soft potato parcel paired with some meaty ragù would be so amazing, and when you get the real deal, the homemade stuff that melts on the tongue… oh boy. If you’re feeling all these feels too you’ll be stoked to know that Melbourne’s insanely popular Gnocchi Festival is back for two huge carb-filled days.

Taking to The Ascot Lot for the third time ever (due to popular demand of course), the food truck park will turn into a potato wonderland with an abundance of food trucks and stalls serving up all kinds of gnocchi goodness on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1.

You’ll be seeing the likes of the city’s most renowned food trucks with the lineup to be announced soon, plus a tonne of gnocchi stalls slinging the potato pillows to takeaway and stock away in your kitchen. Expect traditional Napoletana gnocchi, four-cheese gnocchi or even spicy bolognaise with fresh chilli. Catering to absolutely everybody, the event is vegan and gluten-free as well as dog-friendly so you can combine two of the greatest things into one day.

Out in The Ascot Lot’s outdoor garden bar and in their indoor drinking hall, the team will be slinging Italian-inspired cocktails including Spritzes, Peach Bellinis, Sambuca and Negronis alongside a bunch of live entertainment including DJs and acoustic musos across the festival to keep you moving all night long.

This year, the event will be running across multiple sessions to keep everyone COVID safe and to cater to all the carb-lovers out there. Sessions run from 12pm-2:30pm, 3pm-5:30pm, and 6pm-9:30pm.

Entry is $10 per session, which includes a Spritz on arrival. It all goes down Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1 at The Ascot Lot from 12pm. For further information, visit the website.
