Melbourne’s biggest ever food truck festival is on in May

Melbourne is one of the world’s premier culinary destinations, with countless fine dining locations to be found around literally every corner. Therefore, it’s no surprise that a huge food truck festival has become an exciting but expected staple of the culinary calendar.

The absolute geniuses behind The Food Truck Park are throwing together a huge food truck festival that will roll into Birrarung Marr from Wednesday May 2 to Sunday May 6. Like any CBD-based event, the festival will be divided into north, east, south and west-side Melbourne trucks slinging gourmet foods from a myriad of different cuisines and neighbourhoods.

Instead of lugging yourself out in search of often-elusive big-name trucks, catch a train or tram down to Fed Square and dawdle down to Birrarung Marr. Over 40 food trucks will be waiting, and ready to serve you cheese, fried chicken, tacos, noodles, vegan selections, beer, wine, and even more. If you’re more inclined to satisfy your sugar cravings, a ‘district’ called Sweet Lane is dedicated solely to desserts. You read that correctly, and your teeth called: they want you to book in a cavity check-up for June.
