The Palais Theatre was the sole Australian entrant in Top 100 Global Theatres, at #26 after selling 106,951 over the last six months.
The Top 100 Clubs list had Melbourne’s Corner Hotel at #27 (55,557) with Sydney’s Newtown Social Club at #97.
Etihad Stadium lead the Australian entries in the Top 50 Outdoor Festival Sites, at #9 with sales of 116,234. There were four others on the list: Byron Bay’s Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm (#12), Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium (#23), and Sydney’s Allianz Stadium (#30) and ANZ Stadium (#41).
Rod Laver Arena was #32 of the world’s Top 100 Arenas after shifting 211,792 tickets. It was second only to Perth Arena which was at #25 with 236,227. It lead over Sydney’s Qantas Credit Union Arena (#49) Brisbane Entertainment Centre (#55) and Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion (#94).
Two of the six Australian promoters in the world’s Top 100 highest ticket selling promoters have their headquarters in Melbourne. Frontier Touring was the most successful, with a ranking of #8 after shifting a stunning 932,426 tickets between January and June. Dainty Group was at #81 with 83,667 tickets (Live Nation Australasia was included in its American parent company, which was at #1 with 10.4 million sales around the world).
Of the other Australian promoters, three were from NSW – Nine Lives at #26, Bluesfest Byron Bay at #45 and Chugg Entertainment at #46. Adelaide’s Adrian Bohm Presents was at #84.
