Come one, come all! This Sunday April 17 musicians from all over Melbourne are auctioning off their old CDs, clothes, books, instruments, bikes and anything else they can get their hands on to raise funds for our local Melbourne musos.

Letterbox Music, the genius’ behind the initiative are running the fundraiser auction to give Melbourne musos the opportunity to attend the 2011 National Folk Festival in Canberra this Easter. There will be tonnes of entertainment including trivia, games, comedy and music, oh my! Also providing entertainment on the day will be crowd favourites Underpants On Fire, a band formed each year by random Melbourne Musicians at the National Folk Festival.

For budding Melbourne musicians the  National Folk Festival is a great way to get a spot on a blackboard open mic and play to hundreds of people It also provides them with a chance to get talent spotted and be on the line up for next year’s festival. The festival also provides our local talents with a chance to network and organise gigs in other states making their attendance crucial to their success.

So if you’re up for some fun and games and maybe a second hand trumpet come along and support our Melbourne musos in what is sure to be the most entertaining auction you have ever attended.

The auctions will be held at Bar 303 High Street, Northcote on Sunday April 17 at 3pm. For more details contact Vic Farrell on 0410416091 or at [email protected].
