If you thought 2022 was a real treat after suffering through those 2021 lockdowns, then 2023 earns itself more esteem. With unwavering aims at making sure Melbourne stays a vibrant cultural hub, the City of Melbourne doesn’t shy from funding innovative and inimitable experiences.

It seems like just about every festival is making its way to Melbourne. The usual Byron Bay situated Bluesfest is coming down south next year, it’s the first time ever in Victoria. It’s the same renowned Blues and Roots festival, except it’s turning Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre into a bustling festival occasion on Saturday 8 to Sunday 9 April. Forget the road trip next year.

The neo-art and music festival RISING is also returning in 2023, bringing its contemporary performance and ceremony to Melbourne once again. Going ahead on June 14-18, it will feature over 800 artists and a countless number of spectacles. All happening in the CBD, it’s another unmissable event to add to the calendar.

This program is set to attract many, with City Activation portfolio lead Councillor Roshena Campbell stating: “We’re pleased to reveal the first round of City Revitalisation Event Support Program fund recipients, which we anticipate will be enjoyed by more than 1.2 million Melburnians next year.”

After your busy December, it seems the experiences won’t stop.
