Melbourne grind heavyweights Choof have dropped east coast tour dates

Choof
Words by Staff Writer

Fresh outta Goatsound Studios recording their debut album, Choof are playin’ some shows up the coast to road test the best of the beast.

Expect nothing less than a classic Choof show: chaos, violence, verbal assult, bodily fluids and begging for money, but with some extra special new songs getting shoved down your throat.

When asked about the shows, Choof said: “Yeah for sure, it’s gonna be sick. We’re mad keen to get back on the road to remind all you flogs we’re ya favourite band”. Sounds sick.

Dead Set Records commemorated the release of their debut 10” vinyl EP Dimwitted Amoral Exploitation last year by saying; “The band have become known nationwide for their “no holds barred” approach to the stage, and now they have taken to the studio with this same venom and intent. The EP was recorded and mixed by Max Dangerfield at Singing Bird Studios, Frankston and is accompanied by a brand new video by producer Hussein Khoder for the track Mortuary Rat. The video boasts the band whiplashing in their live element with all the blood, sweat and tears that you’d come to expect from these Melbourne maniacs.

“Lyrically, this is a collection of horrid shit and CHOOF dive straight into the most twisted and messed up aspects of human existence. Sonically it’s a prime example of why Melbourne grindcore is held in such high regard worldwide. The riffage is relentless with explosive and hard-hitting beats that drive it all the way down the gutter. Breakdowns, grooves and well-crafted songs coupled with Jake Seymour’s unique vocals stylings make this a world-class slice of filthy grind.”
