Melbourne Fringe Festival returns to Gasworks Art Park in October

This springtime festival showcases a program of open access works that supports the creative endeavours of new, emerging, and professional artists, as well as explores a diverse range of social themes and creative mediums.

Spanning over three weeks in October and comprising of eight acts, the line-up boasts a variety of talents and performances ranging from stand-up comedy sketches to plays, from dance acts to live bands, and offering everything in between for a diverse line-up with something for everyone.

Comprising of acts from, Melbourne Writer’s Theatre, Melbourne University’s Shakespeare Company, Breeze Entertainment, The Anchor Theatre Company and many more, this year’s acts explore a range of themes ranging in the serious from the complexity of consent, an exploration of bullying in the Australian school system -to sci fi Shakespearian mash ups.

The festival will kick off on Tuesday 4 October with The Goddesses opening the bill with their showcase of music, dancing and design through till closing night capped off by Laura Charlton and Sabina Donato’s production of Haml3t concluding the 3 weeks on Saturday October 22.

All shows are fully wheelchair accessible with tickets for shows available online through Gasworks’ website, with discounts for purchases of groups of four or more, as well as for locals to the area, so get in quick while they last!
