Following the massive success of her 2 billion-streaming, RIAA Gold-certified second album, K-12. The album was a sensation upon its release in September 2019, entering the Billboard 200 at an impressive #3 – her highest chart placement to date. K-12 also dominated the Alternative album chart, debuting at #1, and topped the Soundtrack album chart as well.

K-12 is not just an album; it’s a concept masterpiece that serves as a soundtrack companion to an enchanting musical film. The film, which was written, directed, and stars Melanie Martinez, has garnered over 104 million views on YouTube alone.

Her creative journey began with her debut album, CRY BABY, in 2015, which instantly captured fans’ hearts with its provocative alt-pop and modern fairy tale concept. The album’s hit singles and self-directed visuals amassed an astonishing six billion total streams and 1.5 billion video views.

CRY BABY made waves on the charts, entering the Billboard 200 at #6 and claiming the top spot on the “Top Alternative Albums” chart. Notably, all 13 original tracks from the album, along with three additional songs featured on the CRY BABY (DELUXE EDITION), have received Gold or Platinum certifications from the RIAA.

Melanie Martinez’s impact on the music scene persisted, and in 2020, the fan-favourite Play Date from the CRY BABY (DELUXE EDITION) became an alt-pop sensation on TikTok, racking up over 1 billion worldwide streams and earning 2x RIAA Platinum certification.
