Melbourne indie stalwart Maxine Gillon returns with ‘The Last Time’, the lead single from her upcoming debut album ‘Girl Songs’, on September 19th. The characteristically introspective and plaintive track muses on the grace that comes with accepting the ebbs and flows of life. Beginning with her signature crystalline guitar interplay, the track also features effervescent percussion that would not be amiss on a 60’s Phil Spector wall-of-sound girl group record, a testament to her culturally referential and forever expanding sonic palette.
Backed by her new live band ‘The Blue Jeans’ and presented by Good Booking, she will launch the single at Shotkickers in Thornbury on Sunday, September 21st. Support is provided by Liam Wright, CCTV & Grace Mitchell.
$15 + booking fee pre-sale, $20 on the door.
