Bastion Festival is back in Mallacoota on 3 January 2026 after a year off, bringing another epic day of Australian music.

Bastion Festival returns for its fourth edition, landing at the Mallacoota Golf & Country Club on 3 January with a lineup that spans indie rock, electronic beats and everything in between. After taking 2025 off, the coastal festival is back with a proper mix of homegrown talent and international guests.

Previous years have brought Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, The Grogans, Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird and DJ PGZ to the Far East Gippsland town. This time around, Bastion Festival scores Brisbane’s Radium Dolls as headliners, backed by Melbourne crew The Brungas, Canadian singer Laura Lucas, indie-blues artist Daniel Aarons and downtempo electronic producer Cob Sonics.

As day rolls into night, the festival shifts gears with established Australian producer and DJ Andras – also known as Wilson Tanner – plus local legends Oldmate and DJ Physical spinning 90s tech, progressive house, deep techno and a few curve balls.

Founded by Mallacoota local Tommy Reichelt and longtime visitor Oscar Manning, Bastion Festival started as a bushfire recovery initiative focused on bringing the community together through music and local support.

Since then it’s grown into a proper celebration of Australian music, blending immersive stage design with coastal scenery, art installations and a carefully picked lineup of emerging and established artists.

Every year Bastion evolves, transforming the Mallacoota Golf & Country Club into a vibrant festival playground where locals and visitors can soak up live music, stunning coastline views and the community spirit that’s been central to the event since day one.

Full lineup details are dropping by 15 December via the festival’s socials, with tickets already on sale. For a regional festival that punches well above its weight, Bastion keeps proving that you don’t need a major city postcode to throw a genuinely good time.
