Loving the Alien premieres at Arts Centre Melbourne, exploring the many masks and characters of David Bowie.
Created by award-winning actor, singer and writer Karlis Zaid, the rock and roll show serves as a love letter to perhaps the most enigmatically brilliant rockstar of his generation. Loving the Alien features Zaid alongside chanteuse Aurora Kurth as they thunder through faithful recreations of era-defining tracks, peering behind Bowie’s many personas to find the real man behind The Man Who Fell To Earth.
The production showcases musical direction and piano by Andrew Patterson, known for his work on Wicked, & Juliet, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Eurobeat The Musical. Rock guitar wizardry comes from Aaron Syrjanen, who has performed in Moulin Rouge, Hairspray, Sister Act and with the Kate Ceberano band.
