The Kiwi superstar’s first major headline Australian tour was set to kick off to a sold out Festival Hall on Thursday night, with her considerable local fanbase crying for more following a string of appearances including Laneway earlier this year and last minute replacement slot at last year’s Splendour In The Grass.
A statment from Lorde read: “It breaks my heart to have to postpone these shows as the band and I absolutely love playing to Australian crowds, and it was not a decision we made lightly. I know I need to focus on getting better in order to perform at my best. We’ll be with you as soon as we can, Aussies.”
After conquering the world off the back of her hit single, Royals, it’s almost hard to believe that a bit under a year ago she played The Workers Club in Fitzroy on a Friday night.
