London alt-rockers Palace are coming to the Palais in June

Palace tour
Words by Staff Writer

London trio Palace will return to Australian stages this winter, announcing their most ambitious tour yet.

The announcement follows a sold-out run through the UK and Europe, with the band set to showcase their forthcoming EP. Due April 1, the release marks their first under newly formed label Palace Presents, launched alongside atmospheric new single Greyhound.

The band’s previous Australian visits, including a breakthrough set at Splendour in the Grass and sold-out headline shows across 2022 and 2023, have set the stage for their return to significantly larger venues nationwide.

Palace tour dates:

  • June 25 – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
  • June 26 – Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane
  • June 28 – Palais Theatre, Melbourne
  • June 29 – Hindley Street Music Hall, Adelaide
  • July 1 – Metropolis, Fremantle

For Leo Wyndham, Rupert Turner and Matt Hodges, the Australian tour marks another milestone in a journey that began in London back in 2012. The childhood friends found themselves drawn to the city separately before fate intervened, leading to the formation of Palace and their debut EP Lost in the Night in 2014.

The band followed this with Chase the Light EP a year later, before delivering four full-length albums: So Long Forever, Life After, Shoals, and last year’s Ultrasound. Each release has seen their fanbase grow globally, drawn to their signature blend of reverb-heavy atmospherics and Wyndham’s distinctive vocals.

Their return to Australian shores will see the band take on their largest venues to date, with Melbourne’s iconic Palais Theatre marking a particular milestone in terms of capacity. The 2,800-capacity venue represents a significant step up from their previous Melbourne shows.
