Local Sweetheart’s debut EP ‘Here and Now’ melds dreamy pop with indie folk intimacy. It’s what’s playing in the kitchen at bedtime and while you lie on the grass looking up at the night sky with your lover beside you. It embraces healing and catharsis, echoing Local Sweetheart’s core tenet: “I see you, I am you, and we’re going to be okay.”
A familiar presence on Naarm’s grassroots stages—including Mamma Chen’s, The Bergy Bandroom, The Retreat, The Quadraphonic Club, and the Gaso (RIP)—Local Sweetheart continues to build community through music, affirming the experiences too often left unheard.
Supported by local icons Guthrie and Birdgirl, and featuring a Queer Artists Market, this launch celebration is a chance for queer and neurodivergent community (and their friends) to gather, connect, and enjoy music that reflects their lived experiences.
