Local music royalty are celebrating a special anniversary every Wednesday night in Northcote

Cheersquad Records & Tapes launches CRT Wednesdays to celebrate the Northcote Social Club's 20th anniversary.

The eight-week residency runs from 2 July to 27 August, featuring label favourites, local legends and familiar faces who have shaped both Cheersquad and the venue over two decades. CRT Wednesdays pays tribute to the artists, crews and crowds that have made the Northcote Social Club a cornerstone of Melbourne’s live music scene.

The lineup spans multiple generations of Australian rock, indie and alternative acts. Highlights include Davey Lane opening the series, Phil Jamieson performing mid-season, and punk legends Hard Ons taking the stage in August. A special tribute to the late Chris Wilson features The Chris Wilson Cheersquad, led by longtime Wilson guitarist Shane O’Mara with guest vocalists including Sarah Carroll, Tim Rogers, Jodi Phillis and Van Walker.

The residency concludes with Nunchukka Superfly and The Meanies closing out the celebration. Individual show tickets are available alongside season passes for those wanting to experience the full eight-week journey. Triple R presents the series, with DJ Max Crawdaddy spinning records throughout the Chris Wilson tribute night.
