Adored for his experimental lo-fi sound and illustrative songwriting style, Alex Giannascoli built a dedicated underground fan base through a handful of Bandcamp self-releases in the early 2010s. His label debut, 2014’s DSU, was praised by critics from Pitchfork and The Fader.

Even as his fan base grew, he’s remained relatively private, giving him an air of mystery that only served to further entice fans. Borrowing from a wide range of influences including folk, ’90s punk, R&B, indie rock, black metal and Y2K pop, Alex G has crafted a sound both infinitely relatable and distinctly his own.

On his ninth and most recent album, 2022’s God Save The Animals, the artist only sharpened his skills. Featuring his signature pitch-shifted vocals, reverb-laden layered instrumentals and poetic waxing about everything from God to dogs, the record ended up on many publications’ “Best of 2022” lists.

On the upcoming tour, fans are sure to hear favourites from the album including Runner, Blessing and Cross the Sea as well as hits from across his discography such as Harvey, Mary, Treehouse and Sarah.

General admission tickets to see Alex G on his Australian tour are set to go on sale on August 30 at noon local time, with a presale option for Frontier members opening on August 28.
