Lily Allen returns to Australia in 2019

In February 2019, Lily Allen makes her eagerly awaited return to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. The legendary British singer will perform a series of Australian shows following her recent release of No Shame. These will be Allen’s first performances down under in the last four years. See her at the Forum Theatre on Wednesday February 6. Tickets through Frontier Touring are available from Tuesday September 11, with a presale on Thursday September 6.

No Shame is a rebirth for Allen, who has come back after some difficult years and produced a beautiful, raw and truthful collection of pop songs – taking her back to the spirit of her first albums Alright, Still (2006) and It’s Not Me it’s You (2011). Taking it back to the basics, No Shame was recorded across both LA and London with Allen giving herself time to reset and take the pressure off.

“On album one and two, I had found an outlet to express who I was, and who I thought I was,” explains Allen. “And then I had children and got married and I didn’t know any more. I can write half a great song then finish it off with some bullshit, but I’ve been able to sit here and make it as truthful as possible. That was my goal.”

Featuring Giggs on ‘Trigger Bang’, Burna Boy on ‘No Choice’ and Lady Chann on ‘Waste’, No Shame is an honest confession that addresses Allen’s ended marriage, motherhood, partying, friends, crisis and surviving all this.

She’s headlined both Splendour in the Grass and Big Day Out, and this year Allen made her comeback with ‘Trigger Bang’ as triple j’s most played track this January. Four of her albums have made it into the ARIA Top 10 Albums in the years of their release – Alright Still, It’s Not Me It’s You, Sheezus and No Shame.
