Lily Allen adds second Melbourne show after presale frenzy

British pop powerhouse Lily Allen has added second Sydney and Melbourne dates to her October tour.

Presale demand for Lily Allen has been strong enough to warrant new shows at TikTok Entertainment Centre on Monday 26 October and Rod Laver Arena on Thursday 29 October. Ticket allocations for the original Sydney and Melbourne dates have already sold out during presale, which doesn’t happen often before general sale even opens.

Lily Allen is bringing her Lily Allen performs West End Girl tour to Australia and New Zealand across seven arena shows. She’ll be playing her fifth studio album West End Girl in full, front to back, exactly as it appears on the record. It’s a bold move that speaks to the strength of the material; 14 tracks that pivot between fact and fiction, chronicling her move to New York with the kind of candour she’s built her career on.

West End Girl landed seven years after her previous album and it’s racked up over 275 million streams globally. It’s her most expansive work yet, using New York as both setting and catalyst for songs that cut deeper than anything in her catalogue. There’s empathy threaded through the whole thing, but it never loses the bite that made her impossible to ignore in the first place.

Frontier Member and artist presales for the newly announced Sydney and Melbourne shows kick off at 2pm AEDT today. Presales for all previously announced shows run until Friday 6 February at 12pm local time, with Perth presales starting at 12pm local time today. General public tickets for all seven shows go on sale Monday 9 February at 1pm local time.

These shows mark the biggest headline run of Lily Allen’s career. Playing an album in sequence is a different beast to a greatest hits set—it requires trust in the work and confidence that people want to sit with it properly. Given the presale response, that trust seems well placed.

This isn’t a nostalgia tour with a few new songs tacked on. It’s a Lily Allen statement.
