Life Size Tram Sculpture Comes to Melbourne

Commissioned by the City of Melbourne Public Arts Program and created by David Michael Bell, Raising the Rattler Pole- the last of the Connies is an actual scale recreation of the last W-Class tram built in 1956.

A tribute to Melbourne icon- the W-Class ‘rattler’ tram, the 10 metre sculpture juts 8 metres out of the ground. Its headlights and windows light up at night time to simulate the tram’s activity from way back when.
