Leo Nazz

Come down to Some Velvet Morning on Thursday, 1st of September to celebrate the launch of Leo Nazz’s new single ‘It Feels Like’. The song is a genuine cry from the heart navigating through the struggles of dealing with mental health issues. Sometimes when you think it will only get worse, the best thing to do is to let it go, let it run its course.

Leo Nazz is an emerging folk-rock singer-songwriter based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. His ability to write relatable songs through emotive lyric writing and fabulous use of imagery is a true standout. Think songs by the fire with a touch of poetry – warm, raw and slightly sentimental. This year saw the artist feature at the 2022 Aireys Inlet Festival and will see him performing more around Melbourne in the coming months.

Joining Leo will be two fantastic Melbourne-based singer-songwriters Raphael Love & Dom Brinkley

Raphael Love is a young art-pop singer-songwriter based in Melbourne, Australia. From an intimate concert in a mountain top forest, to a packed-out World War Two bomb shelter somewhere beneath London, Raphael has performed his music for a wide variety of audiences.

With a sweet voice and a steady guitar hand, he pairs vintage elements with modern material to create a passionate and moving Alt-Pop soundscape – the perfect accompaniment to his hook-laden melodies, and art learnt from inspirations such as Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and David Bowie.

Making use of his writing background, Raphael seeks out new and untouched song topics to explore – while also bringing a fresh perspective and honesty to everyday tales of relationships and life gone wrong.

Dom Brinkley is a psych-folk-blues singer-songwriter/guitarist based in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. After playing and releasing music in different bands over a six-year period on the Melbourne music scene, Dom Brinkley began his solo venture in early 2020, right as the pandemic was taking off. After some early blues singles, Dom tapped into his distinctive, Nick Drake-inspired folk songwriting for last year’s dreamy debut EP, ‘Moonlight Dream’. This collection of songs yielded the single ‘Crying’, a ballad that has been described as a ‘remarkably moving number’ (Divide & Conquer Music); a ‘mystical’ interplay between acoustic guitar and vocals that offers ‘a bit of hallucinogenic magic’ (Nkechi Anele & David Ruby Howe from Triple J).

Dom’s recently-formed live band has allowed him to combine his unique songwriting with his love of improvisation at Melbourne venues. With his creativity in constant evolution, Dom is a versatile musician who likes to move toward wherever his musical interests take him, capturing snapshots along his journey through his music.
