Common Ground was established in 2013 to create a space for young people from two faiths that are often religiously and racially vilified (Sikhism and Islam), to come together and use spoken word and poetry as a medium for dialogue, friendship and interaction.
It has since evolved to be a dedicated platform for diaspora community and local creatives to come together through a series of workshops and theatre performances around Victoria and interstate.
In 2023, we present the Legends of Common Ground, a showcase by the legends who have participated in Common Ground’s history.
The Common Ground performance stage will be open for past participants only; however, local poetry enthusiasts can participate via an open mic slot.
This will be a unique experience of multilingual poetry and spoken word.
A short interval will be held.
