Melbourne’s premier post-rock outfit waste no time with The Slow, crashing straight into a verse, pulling us down into a deep, dark sea, where lights strobe and unseen monsters scream. There is a horrible drift in this song, a sense of being carried forward in a hostile current while you’re closed in on all sides, your lungs filled with water. It has an epic scope, last heard on Radiohead’s OK Computer.
