What’s the band name and what do you do in the band? I go by Lakyn, that’s my name and it’s been working for most of my life. At the moment it’s a duo.
What do you reckon people will say you sound like? Like something you would hear on the radio when you steal a car on GTA Vice City and ride off into the sunset. Well that’s what I’ve dreamt about for years.
What do you love about making music? I live the most part of my life in my head asking myself what seems like unanswerable questions, I think if I didn’t have music as an outlet I’d go completely mad.
What do you hate about the music industry? When you’re on your way to a meeting or a studio and then you get in an elevator that needs a secret pass and you’re standing there trying to gain people’s trust so they can buzz you up to your floor.
If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be? Music has changed a lot in my short 25 years of existence, I ask myself a few questions when I’m trying to decide if I’ve made good music or not, “What would Jeff Buckley think ofthis?” or “Would Hendrix vibe this?” I guess I’ll never know but I do it with respect to them.
What can a punter expect from your live show? I’d like to say entertained, but as always I’ll leave that up to them to decide.
