La Dispute’s Wildlife 10th anniversary tour is coming to Australia

La dispute

The post-hardcore five piece will return to the country for the first time in over five years.

Heavy, relentless, and unmistakable in their poetry-inspired sound, La Dispute is a force of the hardcore scene.

Formed in Michigan in 2004, the band found its footing in the now-iconic Midwestern emo DIY scene before becoming known to the wider world after signing with No Sleep.

The band released their first album, Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair, in 2008 to high acclaim. What self-respecting Tumblr kid doesn’t remember the cultural impact of that live Such Small Hands video?

When they released their second album, Wildlife, in 2011, they were already stars, touring globally with bands including Four Year Strong, Alexisonfire and Trash Talk.

The album propelled the band to new heights. It was adored for its raw, vulnerable sound and its interesting concept – it centered around themes of grief and a search for meaning, written as the notes and stories of a man alone in his room.

Featuring the hit singles Harder Harmonies and The Most Beautiful Bitter Fruit, the album secured La Dispute’s place as hardcore legends.

To celebrate its 10th birthday, the band has organised a massive tour which has already made its way through the US the UK. On the Australian leg, presented by Destroy All Lines, they’ll be playing the acclaimed album in full.

The anniversary tour will be touching down in Australia this August for seven dates across the country and finishing off at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on August 27.

Tickets to see La Dispute when they come to Melbourne will go on sale on May 4 at 9am. Buy them here
