Knox is bringing his pop-punk revival to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane

Ohio’s own emo-kid-turned-songwriter Knox is finally crossing the Pacific, with Australian shows locked in for March 2027.

The Nashville-based artist will play three east coast dates, starting at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel before heading to Sydney and Brisbane. Knox arrives on the back of his second album My Midwest Best, a 12-track set due out on 2 October that leans hard into the early-2000s pop-punk and emo records he grew up with.

He’s been building toward this for a while. Knox first landed in 2022 with the single Sneakers, which has since passed 49 million Spotify streams, and followed it with Not The 1975, now sitting above 63 million. His debut album Going, Going, Gone arrived in 2025, and the years since have included sets at Lollapalooza and Hangout Fest, collaborations with Bilmuri and HARDY, and co-signs from Ed Sheeran and Matt Healy.

The Knox origin story is a fairly straightforward one for anyone who spent their teens with a fringe and a burnt CD. Raised in New Carlisle, Ohio, he came up on Fall Out Boy, All-American Rejects, Boys Like Girls, Panic! At The Disco and Hawthorne Heights, then moved to Nashville in 2019 to work as a songwriter. My Midwest Best is the record where he circles back to all of that, both in sound and subject matter, and he’s described the album as music written with the stage in mind.
