Kieran Christopherson presents Grand Mote: One Night Only

Kieran Christopherson presents Grand Mote: One Night Only – a celebration of songcraft and community. Kieran spent much of the last decade as a founding member of Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird. His self-produced LP Grand Mote is a return to solo work which began almost 15 years ago, on stages shared with beloved Australian acts including Matt Corby, Tim Rogers and The Beautiful Girls.

Previously released singles ‘China’ and ‘Get That Money’ showcase the stunning scope of the storytelling songwriting that characterises the record. Advanced listens of Grand Mote are available through an accompanying podcast Grand Mote Radio, where the album’s collaborators discuss the notion of body of work in contemporary music. The album demonstrates a cutting lyrical ability and knack for groove, swirling within the distinctive guitar driven sound developed during his time with Cousin Tony.

Kieran is also hosting two sold-out interactive ‘listening experiences’ in May at Longplay, Fitzroy North. Grand Mote: One Night Only pursues the same ideals as these unique events, of shortening the distance between the artist and the listener. A swag of friends and collaborators will set up shop at the Brunswick Ballroom on July 21st to humbly perform new solo work.

Joining the festivities will be Peter Simonsen, the co-founder and frontman of Cousin Tony’s Brand new Firebird Lachlan Rose, with a DJ set from producer composer Kitsch Kitchen bringing it all together.

Kieran will host the evening, and debut Grand Mote live in full through an intimate solo performance.
