Free With Me showcases Halloran’s guitar prowess, featuring an intricate solo and a strong vocal presence. Halloran describes the song as “for all those people, like myself, who have a strong resistance to being put in a box.” She added, “It’s about inner and outer freedom: to be proudly comfortable with who you are and to quit having to prove yourself or meet others’ perceptions.”
Produced by Ross Irwin, engineered by Ben Edgar, and mastered by Lachlan Carrick, the single is accompanied by a performance-focused music video filmed at Sorsi E Morsi, a St Kilda café Halloran frequents. “To say I love my local is an understatement,” she explained. “I wanted to capture the local spirit and vibe that is a big part of my life.”
