Kaskade is swapping Super Bowl stadiums for a sweaty St Kilda bandroom this summer

Words by staff writer

Grammy-nominated electronic heavyweight Kaskade brings his stadium-filling sound to an intimate St Kilda venue.

Melbourne’s dancefloors are about to get a serious workout from one of house music’s biggest names.

Kaskade, the American producer and DJ born Ryan Raddon, is touching down at Prince Bandroom for a late-night summer session on 25 January. The eight-time Grammy nominee has spent decades cementing his reputation as one of electronic music’s most influential figures, and his upcoming Melbourne appearance offers local fans a rare chance to catch him in a more intimate setting than his usual stadium-sized affairs.

Kaskade’s recent resume reads like a highlight reel of firsts. In February 2024, he became the inaugural in-game DJ at the Super Bowl, spinning for an audience of more than 123 million viewers. A few months later, he notched another pioneering achievement as the first DJ to perform on the starting grid at a Formula 1 race in Miami. That same year saw him take home Best Male Artist at the iHeartRadio EDM Awards, while his collaborative project Kx5 with deadmau5 snagged Best New Group.

The producer’s live credentials extend well beyond those headline-grabbing firsts. His 2022 show at LA Memorial Coliseum set a record as the largest single-day concert headlined by an electronic artist in North America, while an October 2024 performance in New York’s Central Park added yet another landmark gig to his CV. Festival appearances have included surprise Coachella sets alongside John Summit, Alison Wonderland, and a three-hour back-to-back marathon with actor Idris Elba in 2025.

Beyond the massive productions, Kaskade has built his reputation on genre-fluid collaborations with artists including Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, and Meghan Trainor.
