Kanye delivers pro-Trump rant on ‘SNL’ while wearing a MAGA cap

Kanye West – sorry, ‘Ye’ – raised a lot of eyebrows for his appearance on SNL yesterday.

From his last-minute name change, to performing his latest track ‘I Love It’ dressed as a giant bottle of Perrier sparkling water, and falling through on his promise for the Yandhi album drop, there was more than enough going on to get people talking.

However, in true Kanye-style, the rapper couldn’t help himself from stirring up controversy with a pro-Trump rant.

The program had already finished up on TV, but everyone in the audience was privy to the speech which West delivered during the credits.

Donning a ‘Make America Great Again’ cap, the rapper said; “They bullied me backstage. They said, ‘don’t go out there with that hat on. They bullied me backstage. They bullied me! And then they say I’m in a sunken place.”

He also defended his friendship with Trump, saying; “There’s so many times I talk to, like, a white person about this and they say, ‘How could you like Trump? He’s racist.’ Well, uh, if I was concerned about racism I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago.”

Host Adam Driver and SNL cast member Chris Redd walked off stage during the tirade, whilst everyone else looked pretty uncomfortable, and audience members even started booing.

It didn’t make it to air, but you can watch the train wreck here.
