A one-night-only gigglefest for a very good cause
Funny bones will be tickled. Socks shall be laughed off. Stomach muscles guaranteed to quiver with hilarity.
The Short & Girly Comedy Gala is back for a third time in 2011, and will showcase some of the finest comic talent in the country.
Hosted by the hostess with the mostess (and with dimples to die for), Julia Zemiro from Rockwiz, this fundraising event has a roll-call of Australia’s finest and funniest female comics, who are donating their time and talent to support the Victorian AIDS Council.
The stellar lineup includes Fiona O’Loughlin (Good News Week), Cal Wilson (Thank God You’re Here), Denise Scott (Spicks & Specks), Kate McLennan (Barry-nominated The Debutante Diaries), Rachel Berger (ABC 774, GMA), Geraldine Hickey (Triple M, Stand Up Australia), Geraldine Quinn (Shut Up And Sing), and Zara Swindells-Grose (Sea FM, 92.9 Perth).
Produced by Janet A. McLeod (Cinema Fiasco, Miss (you) Melbourne), proceeds from Short & Girly will be going to the Victorian AIDS Council, who work tirelessly to reduce the transmission of HIV in our community, and to preserve the independence, dignity and health of people living with HIV/AIDS.
This all-girl gala fundraiser will help them continue to provide these crucial services, and all you need to do to help is to purchase a ticket and enjoy an evening of laughter, giggles, and all-round hilarious funtimes!
The Short & Girly Comedy Gala will take place at the National Theatre, 20 Carlisle St (Corner Barkley St) St. Kilda, Saturday 12 February at 7.30pm.
